Since 2013, Pepijn Viaene (°1990) works at the Geography department as Ph.D. student. His research is entitled “Indoor landmarks: the study and implementation of navigational aids” and deals with wayfinding and navigation in buildings. This research focuses on the identification of landmarks with the help of eye tracking measures and the use of landmark in path algorithms and smartphone applications.
